Re-Elect John "Jake" BRUNO

Dear Fellow Franklin Township Resident,

I wanted to take a moment to reach out to you directly regarding Franklin Township. I have had the honor and privilege of serving as your Mayor since 2019. When I started, I had two primary goals. The first was to preserve the rural character of Franklin. The second was to exercise financial conservatism to put Franklin on a path to financial stability. I am proud to say we have made much progress in both. Farmland Preservation is crucial for us to protect our community. We have preserved almost 600 acres since 2019 and now presently have 3,693 acres preserved. We additionally have several other properties which total almost 300 acres currently in the preservation process to add to our ever-growing list. When I started my service as a member of the Township Committee we were in difficult financial straits. Our surplus entering January 2019 was $8,809.24! Due to this perilous situation, members of the Township Committee devised a comprehensive plan to improve our situation. The easiest thing was requiring that everyone pay their taxes. It is only fair that we each meet our obligations in order to protect our community. We have collected over $600,000 ill previously delinquent taxes since 2021. I strongly believe that our residents pay enough taxes and that it is our job as elected leaders to do everything we can to fmd alternative funding. We have held public auctions every year since 2021 to monetize this underutilized asset. In 3 years, we have collected $999,610 in revenue from these land auctions. Additionally, we aggressively managed the sale ofthe Meredith Farms property which had been languishing for over a decade. We completed this transaction in December 2023 receiving $1,384,468 which can be utilized to pay back the money that was borrowed over a decade ago. This adds an estimated $28,294.00 to our tax revenue, and 110 maintenance costs. We have been able to return our Franklin Township Police Department to a full staff of 38 officers and 4 Class 3 School Resource Officers's ill the school system. We also locked in profitable shared service agreements with Buena Boro and Newfield for Police Services for the next 10 years. As a result of all the above efforts our Township surplus reached $1.8 million as of December 31,2023. Progress has been achieved through hard work and the cooperation of members of the community. I'm asking for your assistance in this quest to continue the work we started and to preserve the character of Franklin Township. I am running for re-election this year to continue the privilege of serving our Township. I am respectfully asking for your support in the primary election on June 4th. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely yours,

Jake Bruno Mayor of Franklin Township
